• How many years have you been a member of the Sika Family?
I have been a member of the Sika Family for about 22 years.
• What did you feel when you first started at Sika? What were your first impressions?
When I first came to Sika, I saw that there was a warm and sincere relationship among the employees. I thought that I came to the right place and this thought made my heart warm. I remember feeling very peaceful.
• Can you please share your most emotional moment in Sika?
In the past, there used to be picnics in months of spring. We used to go to those picnics with spouses and children together. There were big events during those picnics. My daughter used to have a lot of fun in those events. Now she has grown up, but I see that she is getting so emotional when talking about those picnics and she longs for those days. We, as adults, were having so much fun in these picnics like a little child. Employees, wives and husbands and kids... Incredible... This is what I think the Sika Family is. Not only the employees of Sika, but together with our families we are SIKA. This is the feeling that warms the heart.
• What is the moment when you have been most proud of being a member to the Sika Family?
I see that Sika is in an unstoppable growth trend. I am so proud of being an employee of such a big company. I am really so proud when I see how crowded the Sika Turkey Family is in the ball-dinner organised after the year-end meetings.
• We all face challenges in our professional life. Can you share the most difficult situation you have been in Sika and how you overcome that situation?
We, as the sales team, get very happy when we achieve to acquire a new customer, a new line. Convincing the customer is the conclusion of many difficult processes. A serious amount of efforts are spent in these processes. In such situations, the support of our co-workers is extremely important. Our experienced friends share their experiences on this matter. Indeed, we can overcome these difficult processes more easily thanks to the support of our Technical Service team, one of our greatest heroes. Being a team is very important for overcoming many difficulties.
• What has your greatest professional success been at Sika?
Sika Industry meeting was held in Antalya. It was a meeting in which Industry groups from each Sika units participated. The successful groups were being awarded in this meeting. It was time for the award that we call the Oscar of Sika. I was so proud when Sika Turkey was announced. Getting that trophy, raising it in the air... It still fills me with excitement even when I think about it...
• How has Sika changed from the day you started up to now?
Really, Sika has grown so much within approximately 22 years that I have witnessed. Everything has grown: Turnovers, number of employees, production... The companies added through acquisition while it was a sole company in Turkey... The only thing unchanged is the sincerity between the employees of the company.
• Is there a moment when you really realise that you are a team?
Especially in the dinners organised after the year-end meetings, there were usually a wide range of restaurant options, and everyone used to write their names on a list for the restaurants they opted for. Among us, no one used to write a different name; we all used to write names for the same restaurant as a group. I used to think that we were a real team. This team does not only remain together while working but also while entertaining. We are a good team :)
• What do you think about Sika's and your future?
I have been working for this company for 22 years exactly. I think I am living / have lived my future as well in this company. Sika has grown and still continues to grow.
• Finally, is there anything you would like to add?
Finally, I would like to say something for our young friends. Be patient, adopt the company's philosophy. You are the ones who will improve the company. You can work for long years for this company. Love your job and your team friends.
I have always been very happy to be a part of this family.
