• How many years have you been a member of the Sika Family?
I have been a member of the Sika Family for 10 years, and I'm proud to be a part of this family.
• What did you feel when you first started at Sika? What were your first impressions?
I had some concerns on whether would I be able to be adapted into the Sika company culture, or fulfil the responsibilities assigned to me. However, after I saw the process within the company in the orientation training, I saw that these concerns were exactly unnecessary. I observed that it was teamwork and could be overcome with collaboration and work discipline.
• Can you please share your most emotional moment in Sika?
After the construction works of the factory site and long and laborious installation of the machinery and equipment, on February 14, 2012 when we obtained the first proper laboratory results of the Hi-tech 11 additive, our first product, I had a great happiness and emotion.
• What is the moment when you have been most proud of being a member to the Sika Family?
I am already extremely proud of the motivating value that Sika company has provided its employees with since the first day I started to work. In addition, as Tarsus factory workers, together with my teammates, we are happy and proud of the success due to the superior performance we achieve from time to time.
• We all face challenges in our professional life. Can you share the most difficult situation you have been in Sika and how you overcome that situation?
Indeed, like every job, this one also has negative sides as well as positive ones.
Once, we encountered the risk of deterioration of the product and likely failing to deliver the product to the customer on time, due to a significant failure in the reactor of liquid processing and thus interruption of the production. In front of such a situation, with proper time management and taking quick action, we achieved to solve the interruption in a shorter time than expected, and we eliminated the greater risks that might arise.
• What has your greatest professional success been at Sika?
In line with our recommendations and as the supporting decisions of the senior management, 37% of the orders for concrete additives throughout Turkey have become coverable with the equipment and personal investments made and with the capacity increase within the period from 2012 to 2020.
• How has Sika changed from the day you started up to now?
It has become a leading company by improving itself in the production sector with its strong R&D structure, offering instant solutions to customer demands with its new product variety, and leaving its competitors behind in the construction sector.
• Is there a moment when you really realise that you are a team?
A good team lies behind successful works and good works stand in front of a good team. I believe that there is absolutely team spirit behind every successful work achieved, and I am strongly having the feeling that we are a team as we achieve these successes. In addition, seeing this emerging performance style and that it reflects to production and the customer accordingly reinforce the feeling of the fact that we are a team.
• What do you think about Sika's and your future?
I see a strong Sika brand focused on new products and technologies, reaching brand new markets with the strong reputation of Sika, catching special project and special customer opportunities, and incorporating new companies (acquisitions) operating in the construction sector.
On the other hand, for myself, I aim to ensure the sustainability of the powers and responsibilities that I have and to carry my innovative executive qualification forward.
