• How many years have you been a member of the Sika Family?
I have completed 18 years and now in the midst 19.
• What did you feel when you first started at Sika? What were your first impressions?
I was working in the heart of the city when they called me about my job application. I was commuting to work by ferry, which was a great luxury for me. That's why, I was making it a big deal working in Pendik, Kaynarca at first. And when I came to the interview, I warmed up to the company. I got the feeling that I could work long term there. In the end, my senses have not deceived me. The company was smaller then. All office employees were on the same floor. I thought it was a friendly environment. Since I came from a larger and bureaucratic structure, it made me happy to be able to solve many issues with conversations around the tea machine.
• Can you please share your most emotional moment in Sika?
One or one and a half month later I started for Sika, my elder son was born. His adventure of growing month by months proceeded simultaneously with my Sika identity. This was an effective factor on my formation of an emotional bond to my company.
• What is the moment when you have been most proud of being a member to the Sika Family?
The incorporation of ABC Kimya Company into Sika was a long-term process. On the other hand, this tiring process was enjoyable, exciting and proud as a result. The moment when mutual signatures were given has a permanent place in my memory. Likewise, the supporting works of Sika for Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan companies and the progress achieved there have also remained in my mind as difficult but enjoyable memories.
• We all face challenges in our professional life. Can you share the most difficult situation you have been in Sika and how you overcome that situation?
I especially remember that my first six months at the company were tough. However, I was able to overcome that period with patience, hard work and determination.
• What has your greatest professional success been at Sika?
I can say that I enjoy the company's procurement process and the successful conclusion of internal audit processes.
• How has Sika changed from the day you started up to now?
Sika has grown a lot. In terms of capital, turnover, profitability, human capital, through acquisitions; it has grown, developed and strengthened in every regard.
• Is there a moment when you really realise that you are a team?
As the department, we are already within a team play. Each of our friends has more or less contact with all departments and with all individuals. Also as a company we are the leader of our sector. However, we have a structure that is not so enormous and crowded, but dynamic. So, I think that this prevents disorder and contributes to us to be a team.
Thanks to Sika, I started running after age of forty. I have run for kilometres in social aid runs. Likewise, rowing for Sika was one of the moments that gave a good feeling and certainly made us feel that we are a team.
• What do you think about Sika's and your future?
I totally believe that Sika will walk to the future by growing and expanding. This is Sika's way. And I will try to provide my best support for Sika whenever possible.
• Finally, is there anything you would like to add?
We are in more than one hundred countries. We have been operating for more than one hundred years, and we are continuing this as leaders almost in every field. This can only be possible by doing many things right at the same time. Since it focuses on permanent achievements rather than instant ones, I know and see that there is no place for coincidences in Sika's world, which also makes me happy.
